Christmas at Tokyo's Shibuya Crossing
Inside Hearst Castle along the California coast. It is an eclectic mix of art and architecture from Europe and was once the opulent residence of one of America's richest men at the turn of the 20th century, William Randolph Hearst of San Francisco. A worthwhile visit should you find yourself in California.
It's in! I received an Ancestry.com kit as a gift last Thanksgiving and I just received the results. My heritage is really simple and traceable to only two countries, The Philippines and China. I thought there was a Middle Eastern component since I have an Iranian family name. Anyway, I was born in Manila and lived there for many years. I just never gave the Chinese lineage much thought even though I am mistaken for Chinese a lot everywhere I go. Definitely proud of my roots! I wondered what these were when I saw them in Munich over the Christmas holidays a few years ago. I sure can’t wait to get my hands on one and have a taste. I shall see you in two weeks Germany!
The Washington Monument and the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall. Taken last year over the Christmas holidays in the US capital. Inside the Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nihonbashi Christmas 2016. Last 2005, I traveled to japan for the first time. The attraction was immediate and I went “Japan Crazy” for a long time. I couldn't help it. The sights, the sounds, not to mention the shopping were too much to resist I've been 11 times. #mitsukoshi #mitsukoshinihonbashi #mitsukoshidepartmentstore #nihonbashi #tokyo #tokyoshopping #tokyo #japan #globetrotter #traveler #worldtraveler
Happy Black Friday, America! Time to hit the stores and shop. I just love the Christmas holidays!
It’s the day before the big day! Schools are out and offices have closed. The cities are deserted and airports are bursting at the seams. Turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, cranberries, Bring it on! Photo shows the Palace Hotel, one of the nicest places in San Francisco to have a Thanksgiving meal should you not mind the crowds, don't want to cook, and don't care about the price. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! #thanksgiving #palacehotelsf #gardencourtpalacehotel #sanfrancisco #sfbayarea #lifewellspent #lifewelltravelled #globetrotter #richpeoplelife
Although Thanksgiving is still three days away, Christmas can already be seen and felt. This was taken during Santacon last year. An annual SF celebration, people from everywhere descend on the city en masse dressed as Santas. They come in red and green and yes, in San Francisco, Santas dressed in nothing at all!
Last 2014, I spent my Christmas holidays here. Rome is an awesome place. And for a Catholic like myself, a visit to the Vatican is a must. Even attended mass during my birthday inside St. Peter’s basilica. The reminiscing continues.
I have only been to France twice but I am now looking forward to the third in a few weeks. The very first trip took place decades ago while I was a very young Spanish language student in Madrid. To cut costs, I took the bus from the Spanish capital and the trip lasted 20 hours. By the time I arrived, my body ached but even then I could not help but smile as I walked along the beautifully lit Champs Elysees and saw the Arc de Triomphe for the very first time over Christmas. Oh what memories. #arcdetriomphe #paris #parisfrance #globetrotter #globetrottertravels #lifewelltraveled #lufewelltravelled #rich
Local architecture in Vilnius, Lithuania. Wishing you all a wonderful new week. It's Veterans Day here in the USA and I have the day off!
Looking back on my trip to the Andes Mountains in Santiago, Chile July of last year. There wouldn't be anything left if this were real. I'd gobble it up! Just a week and one day and it's Thanksgiving week!
It was a year ago this month when I first stepped foot in the Middle East. I got to visit all seven Emirates of the UAE during the week I was there. Truly unforgettable! The sights, the culture and the food! I hope to visit the region again in the fall of next year. There's Oman and Qatar, among others I would love to see. Photo shows the uber exclusive Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai.
Taken in Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada over the Christmas holidays a few years ago.
Tis' the season. Pumpkin patches, an American tradition!
